Celebrating the life and career of Dr Nicholas Medland

Dr Nicholas Medland was a clinical epidemiologist at the Kirby Institute at UNSW Sydney and a former President of ASHM. A gifted, passionate and effective leader, Nick played a pivotal role in shaping HIV and sexual health clinical and public health practice.  He died unexpectedly earlier this year.A special event is being held to commemorate and celebrate the life and achievements of Dr Nick Medland at the ASHM HIV Conference. Co-hosted by the Kirby Institute and ASHM, we will hear from some of Dr Medland’s close colleagues and friends about his significant contributions to clinical and public health in Australia and overseas.  Please join us as we gather in memory of an extraordinary researcher, clinician, and collaborator. Drinks and canapes will follow.

HIV&AIDS Trainee Case Presentation Breakfast, Wednesday 17th September, Adelaide Convention Centre

The Case Presentation Breakfast provides an opportunity for trainees and early career clinicians to present difficult cases for discussion with peers. It offers the presenter valuable presentation experience, clinical guidance and the presenters selected are in the running to win a complimentary registration to the 2026 conference as part of the ASHM ECR Awards. We encourage mentors and experienced clinicians to attend to provide expert guidance in discussions. Trainees attend for free!
